MRESS in Education

StormMRESS is a unique system that takes the adventure and excitement of "storm chasing" and adds a healthy dose of earth sciences, fluid dynamics, physics, mathematics, electronics, and computer programming.

A presentation to an elementary school would involve showing some "storm chasing" footage to capture interest, followed by an explanation of some basic weather concepts and a demonstration of the observing equipment. Additionally, Teachers can monitor the web site and create assignments on basic data analysis or math.

A presentation to a middle school would also involve showing some "storm chasing" footage, but would be Tornadofollowed by an deeper explanation of severe weather concepts and a demonstration of the observing equipment. Additionally, Teachers can monitor the web site and create assignments on basic data analysis or math.

A presentation to a high school would involve showing some "storm chasing" footage. Following the video, we can present on topics ranging from computer programming concepts to meteorology, to fluid dynamics, to electronics. A detailed analysis of a bridge circuit or the opportunity for a programming class to use real data is a very cool way to generate additional interest in course material. Additionally, mathematical analysis of data, derivation of different equations, etc. could be great for advanced math classes.

ComputerObviously, we are very flexible with these types of presentations. We can pretty much work in any subject or any application and make it FUN. Please contact us with any questions or to set up a visit.
